City Council Candidate Thomas Parent Attacked by a Pit Bull while Campaigning

BAYTOWN - A post trended on the wall on Facebook on Saturday afternoon as Thomas was campaigning in the district for the run-off election on Saturday.

He was taken down by a 100 pound Pitbull.  He sustained non-life-threatening bites to the arm, chest, and leg.

He was treated on scene by Baytown EMS but did not go to a local area hospital. "Animal services came out to do a report, they are going to quarantine the dog for 10 days to make sure it doesn't have rabies," Parent said.

According to City Ordinance Chapter 14 - ANIMALS, the owner of the dog was in violation of the City Ordinance.

Parent Continued; "It was not what I expected to have happened today, I can say it hurts and will probably feel worse tomorrow." Jacob Powell is going to win District 5, Mike Lester District 6. Parent said; "I will not run again for City Council for the near future."
