Ribbon-cutting Ceremony at Roseland Park with video


On Thursday, August 22, 2019, Baytown City officials and Be Well Baytown held a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The ribbon-cutting ceremony is celebrating the completion of five new shade structures provided by Be Well Baytown.

City of Baytown officials in attendance: Mayor Brandon Capetillo, District 1 city council member Laura Alvarado, District 6 city council member David Hinsel, Parks and Recreation Director Scott Johnson, and a couple of members from the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. Dr. Randal O'Brien the superintendent of GCCISD was also in attendance. Also in attendance, Mike Ashton from ExxonMobil and Ruth Rechis from the MD Anderson Cancer Center.


Be Well Baytown is a community-wide initiative led by MD Anderson

Cancer Center and sponsored by ExxonMobil Baytown Area to improve the health and wellness of Baytown residents. 




Be Well Baytown mission is; We aim to mobilize the community to promote wellness and stop cancer before it starts. The initiative unites individuals, schools, workplaces, government agencies, health care providers and policy-makers to carry out community-led solutions that will make positive, long-lasting changes in people's lives.
