On Monday, August 19, 2019, around 11:20 a.m., engines from station 2 and station 4, from the Baytown Fire Department, and engine 212 from La Porte Fire Department, were on the scene on the Fred Hartman Bridge northbound to battle a semi-truck without the trailer that was fully engulfed in flame. It is currently undetermined what caused the fire.
La Porte and Baytown Police Department assisted in a quick traffic control by closing all the lanes of the southbound traffic so the Fire Department could safely put the fire out.
No one was injured in that fire.
