On October 25th at 4:44 p.m., officers responded to a report of a vehicle striking several cars in the Wal Mart parking lot in the 4900 block of Garth. upon arrival officers found that one of the complainants had the suspect detained. During the investigation officers learned the suspect, identified as 20 year old Angel Alvarado of Baytown, was backing out of a parking space when he struck one vehicle. He then pulled back into his parking space and as the owner of the vehicle he had just struck approached his vehicle to get his information, Mr. Alvarado reversed his vehicle, at what was described as a high rate of speed, in an apparent attempt to flee the area during which he struck a second and a third vehicle. Mr. Alvarado fled to the exit of the parking lot, being followed by one of the complainants, however due to the heavy traffic Mr. Alvarado was not able to exit the parking lot therefore the owner of the second vehicle was able to make contact with him and take his car keys so he couldn’t flee the scene before police could arrive. Officers contacted the Harris County District Attorney's Office, who accepted charges on Mr. Alvarado for Failure to Stop and Give Information (FSGI). Mr. Alvarado was transported to the Baytown Jail where he was booked on those charges.
