Harris County Vehicular Crime Investigators Charge Man For Fatal Accident

Vehicular Crimes Investigators have now charged a man for causing the death of a local mechanic and seriously injuring another employee earlier this week. Investigators say that Information received from the HCSO Gang Task Force and the Houston Police Department Gang Unit produced a potential suspect identified as Joseph Robicheaux (04/07/74) a black male 45-years of age who also goes by the alias of "Tank". Photo arrays were shown to witnesses from the original scene where they positively identified Robicheaux as the suspect in this case. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office prosecutor’s accepted charges of failure to stop and render aid /death, for killing Mr. Galindo. The charge of failure to stop and render aid w/serious bodily Injury was accepted for causing Mr. Garcia's injuries. The charges are in the progress of being filed for his arrest by way of warrants at this time. On Tuesday, December 17, 2019, at around 4:13 p.m., 66-year-old Arturo F Galindo, was performing mechanical repairs on a vehicle at a mechanic shop located at 320 W. Canino Rd., in Houston, Harris County, Texas. Galindo was underneath the vehicle, which was elevated by jack stands. 30-year-old Miguel Angel Garcia, was working on the same vehicle and was underneath the hood. Robicheaux was picking up a vehicle at the same shop. For reasons unknown, he backed up at a high rate of speed and struck the vehicle that the two men were working on. The impact caused the vehicle to fall off of the jack stands. The vehicle landed on top of Galindo, and pinned Garcia's legs against another vehicle. Robicheaux, failed to stop and render aid to the complainants and fled the scene in a white 2001 Chevrolet Impala. Galindo died of his injuries at the scene and Garcia was transported t o a local hospital in stable condition.
