Deputy Secretary Stephen E. Biegun spoke today with Canadian Deputy Foreign Minister Marta Morgan and expressed condolences for the victims of the Ukraine International Airlines flight PS752. Deputy Secretary Biegun and Deputy Foreign Minister Morgan discussed shared efforts to support Venezuela’s return to democracy, prosperity, and stability. The two committed to cooperate in response to the novel coronavirus outbreak to protect the health and safety of U.S. and Canadian citizens, and reaffirmed the closeness of the U.S.-Canada partnership to support a secure, free, open, and rules-based international order.
