The purpose of the public meeting is to gather public input on the proposed improvements to I-45 from the Galveston Causeway Bridge to 61st Street in Galveston County, Texas. The meeting will be an open house format so the public may come and go at their convenience, and staff will be available to answer questions. Comments must be received on or before Friday, April 17, 2020, to be a part of the official meeting record. The proposed IH 45 improvements would include reconstructing and widening IH 45 from the Galveston Causeway Bridge to 61 street and adding a direct connector from northbound 61st Street to northbound IH 45. The proposed project would require approximately 2.8 acres of additional right of way (ROW) and potentially displace three commercial structures. The proposed project would not displace any residential structures.
