Burglary of an Apartment in the Creekside Apartments

On June 15th at 6:24 a.m., officers responded to a report of a burglary of a habitation at an apartment in the Creekside Apartments located in the 3100 block of Decker. Upon arrival officers contacted the complainant who advised he had arrived home from work and immediately took a shower. Once done with his shower he sat on his couch and started watching television and after a few moments an unknown black male exited one of the bedrooms and immediately placed his hands up and told the complainant he wasn’t armed and merely wanted to leave the apartment, which the complainant allowed him to do. The complainant was unable to find anything missing from his apartment. As the officer was conducting his investigation he determined that the suspect was one of the males who had fled the scene of a stolen vehicle which officers had been investigating in the parking lot of the complex earlier in the morning. The complainant was able to take a photo of the suspect before he fled and provided that to officers, who were then able to share the photo with other officers and through that were able to identify the suspect as 26 year old Johniethon Grigsby, who had recently been arrested by Harris County on unrelated charges and was currently in the Harris County Jail. Officers contacted the Harris County District Attorney’s Office and advised them of the case at which time they accepted charges of Criminal Trespass of a Habitation on Grigsby
