City Council Approved the 5-Year Consolidated Plan for the CDBG Program

City Council approved the Consolidated Plan is associated with City of Baytown's (the "City") Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG") Program. The 5-Year Consolidated Plan prioritizes HUD eligible activities. Furthermore, it prioritizes the goals for CDBG funds, and facilitates how the City spends CDBG funds for the five year period.

The City has encouraged robust public participation in the Consolidated Plan process, especially by people with low and moderate incomes. In order to gain the public participation, MKP Consulting agreed to have a dialog with public and private agencies that provide subsidized housing, health care, and social services within and around Baytown. In an effort to gain input, a community-wide survey regarding housing and community development needs was developed and circulated throughout Baytown; 172 completed surveys were submitted to MKP Consulting. After communicating with stakeholders, and reviewing the survey results, a list of housing and community development priorities was developed by MKP Consulting, and discussed by the Community Development Advisory Committee. The survey results and the list of the priorities is found within the Consolidated Plan.
