I-Zai Clark charged with Unlawful Carrying a Weapon and Possession of a Controlled Substance

On December 27^th at 2:16 p.m., officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area of Spring Park neighborhood. When officers arrived in the area they located the vehicle at the intersection if Garth and Interstate 10, where officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle as it entered onto the Interstate. As officers initiated the stop the vehicle failed to pull over initially and they noticed the occupants of the vehicle appeared to be attempting to conceal something inside the vehicle. Once the vehicle came to a stop in the 1700 block of Interstate 10 officers conducted a high-risk stop on the vehicle and detained the two occupants. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a handgun along with Xanax and Promethazine inside the vehicle. As a result the driver, identified as 23 year old I-Zai Clark of Baytown was arrested and charged with Unlawful Carrying a Weapon and Possession of a Controlled Substance. The passenger was released without charges.
