(Update) Apartment Fire with Multiple Injuries in the Mid West Area

Houston Firefighters arrived at 6110 Fairdale Ln, on July 1, 2021, at 9:36 p.m. within four minutes to find heavy fire coming from four apartment units on the first and second floors. A supply line was established and as crews made an attack on the fire, a primary search was conducted.

HFD Crews found and rescued a 52-year old man with 2nd and 3rd degree burns to 95 percent of his body and transported him to the hospital. He passed away at the hospital during the July 4th weekend.  Two firefighters were transported to the hospital and have been evaluated by the ER and released.  An additional two firefighters (including one from the Village Fire Department) were evaluated on the scene and transported to their fire stations.

The fire was tapped out just past 10:20 p.m. and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the HFD Arson Bureau.
