Houston police have arrested a suspect charged for her role in the fatal assault of a man at 9700 Court Glen Drive about 7 p.m. on Tuesday (August 17).
The suspect, Chinwe Uzoamaka Uva (b/f, 70), is currently charged with aggravated assault of a family member in the 230th State District Court.
The identity of the male victim, 62, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detective J. Pickett reported:
Officers responded to a report of an assault in an apartment at the above address and found Houston Fire Department paramedics transporting the victim to an area hospital. The victim had suffered several lacerations and a hematoma. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Uva, who had remained at the scene, stated she and the victim had a physical altercation prior to officers' arrival. She was arrested and subsequently charged for her role in the assault, with a possibility that charges could change pending autopsy results by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
