Brandon Bryant Arrested and Charged in Fatal Shooting at 2800 Vollmer Road

HOUSTON - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a woman at 2800 Vollmer Road about 6:55 a.m. on September 2.

The suspect, Brandon Bryant (b/m, 28), is charged with murder in the 209th State District Court.  

The victim, Charity Shirley, 33, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives C. Sharp and E. May reported:

Officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and found Ms. Shirley suffering from a gunshot wound.  She was pronounced deceased a short time later.  Nearby residents reported hearing gunfire at approximately 6:35 a.m.

Further investigation led to the identity of Bryant as the suspect in this case.  He was taken into custody on September 29 and subsequently charged with murder.
