HPD RELEASED Surveillance Photos in Fatal Shooting at 2900 Woodridge Drive

HOUSTON, TEXAS - Houston police have released surveillance photos of a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a woman at 2900 Woodridge Drive about 12:40 a.m. on Sunday (Oct. 17).

The suspect is described only as a black male wearing a dark hoodie with blue lettering on the front.  

The victim is identified as Mary Jane Gonzales, 49.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives L. Kauffman and J. Campbell reported:

An off-duty officer heard a gunshot coming from the parking lot of a bank at the above address and ran toward the gunfire.  The officer saw a male standing near the body of a female.  The male then fled the scene in a vehicle.  Paramedics pronounced the woman (Ms. Gonzales) deceased at the scene.  She had been shot at least one time.

The motive in the shooting appears to be robbery.
