On the same day, the House was referred to the House of the Judiciary Subcommittee of the Constitution, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties.

Mr. Jim Banks (R - IN-3) introduced the following bill in the house, on January 21, 2020; which was referred to the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence on the same day, to prohibit the sharing of United States intelligence with countries that permit operation of Huawei fifth-generation telecommunications technology within their borders.
(a) Prohibition.—Intelligence of or under the control of the United States, including intelligence products of the intelligence community, may not be shared with any country that permits operation within its national borders of fifth-generation (5G) telecommunications technology of Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd.
(b) Definitions.—In this section, the terms “intelligence” and “intelligence community” have the meaning given such terms in section 3 of the National Security Act of 1947 (50 U.S.C. 3003).
