Some area residence is concerned about the drainage on Northwood Drive. One of the area residences said; "I wish the City would provide some type of drainage." Another resident said; "I had to take my child out this morning in flood water, I'm grateful that GCCISD pulled over in the driveway to our apartment complex so we can get our child on the bus safely."

had to this morning, and regretfully they need to this afternoon."

I've personally walked on the side of Northwood today. From Bay Pointe Apartment entrance heading west on Northwood is flooded. It was quite challenging walking on the side of the road on the grass without getting your feet wet.

H.C.F.C.D. reported that Baytown received 1.56 inches of rain. A local area citizen said; "This used to not be this way but after Hurricane Harvey, it gets pretty bad on Northwood.

We've reached out to the City of Baytown for a comment. An official from the City of Baytown said; "We're aware of the problem on Northwood Drive, and it is on the list to fix."

On Thursday, September 27, 2018; we caught up with District 1 city council-member Laura Alvarado, and she released a statement on the current situation on the flood issue on Northwood Drive. She said; “I personally went out on Northwood after seeing the photos that were taken by the City, the flood issue is based on the apartment(s) side. We’re working with the apartment complexes on the drainage issue.” She also added, I will revisit that area soon."

Story update:

The end of Northwood Street which is known to be full of potholes will get the overhaul repair next month. Northwood Street is owned by two separate apartment complexes. The south side of the street is owned by Avalon Bay Apartments, and the North side of the street is owned by Laguna Azul Apartments.
