Upgrades and Repairs being made at the Gun Range

Several improvements being made at the gun range on raising the “C” range berm to 23 feet to match the height of the other two ranges. Another project will be to resurface the “A” range deck. A long-range goal will be to replace the classroom at the range as funds become available. 

A spokesperson with the BPD released a statement; ‘Some of the long-needed improvements/repairs to our range were scheduled and paid for with maintenance funds from our current (2018) budget, approx. $37,000.00 worth. However, some other improvements/repairs were the result of damage done by Hurricane Harvey which included mainly water damage to the buildings and the dirt berms, an additional cost of approx. $13,000.00. We hope to be reimbursed by FEMA for those repairs. As far as a timeline for completion, we hope to have all the major repairs and/or improvements completed by the end of next year, but unfortunately, we do not always control that aspect of the process.”
