On October 8th at 12:48 a.m., officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 500 block of North Commerce street. The vehicle appeared to attempt to elude officers as it turned quickly onto West Lobit, sideswiping a parked vehicle prior to pulling into a driveway in the 200 block of West Lobit. The vehicle was occupied by the driver of the vehicle, identified as Christian Garza, along with multiple passengers, identified as Ricardo Leal, Evan Romero, and Roberto Vital. During the stop, officers smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle which prompted a search of the vehicle. As a result of the search officers located approximately 10 grams of marijuana, 3 grams of cocaine, a baby bottle containing suspected promethazine (cough syrup) as well as a 12 gauge shotgun, scales, and other drug paraphernalia. As result, all subjects were placed under arrest for the following offenses.
Roberto Vital - Possession of a Controlled Substance
Evan Romero – Possession of a Controlled Substance
Ricardo Leal – local warrants for Speeding, No Insurance x and Running a Stop Sign
Cristian Garza - No Front License Plate, No Insurance and Fail to Display Driver’s License on Demand.
