Korean War veteran who was senselessly gunned down on August 15th 2018 in Baytown

On August 15, 2019; Baytown Police released the sketch of the suspect in question for the murder of the 2018 murder of Sam Wingate case. Wingate was 84-years old when he was shot 1-year ago, on this day.

The case was linked up on a scene of the Houston Heights shooting due to the shell casings found on the scene. The forensic studies found the shell casings matched up on all cases including the Wingate case.

Wingate was a Korean War veteran. The reward increased to $25,000.00. Please contact the Baytown Crime Stoppers at 281-427-TIPS (8477).

The car is to be described to be a light-colored 2004-2008, chevy malibu; and the subject is to be described to be a black male, 6 foot tall, at the age of late '30s. "There might be a good possibility that he might be from the Heights area, but we don't know where he is, from," said Lt. Steve Dorris. Dorris continued, "what brought him to Baytown?"


The family pleads humbly ask if anybody knows anything if you please find it in your heart and do the right thing and come forward with any information.
