City Council authorized the purchase of thirty-five Motorola APX6000 portable radios and related equipment

[BAYTOWN] On Monday, November 18, 2019, the city council authorized the purchase of thirty-five Motorola APX6000 portable radios and related equipment from Motorola Solutions, through Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) Contract RA05-18 in the amount of $116,395.30 for the Police Department (the "Department"). 

The current Motorola XTS5000 portable radios used by the Department have reached the end of their useful life.   The Department must begin the process of replacing these radios, in order to ensure that Police Officers have the appropriate tools to communicate safely, efficiently, and effectively.  Additionally, the Department is currently out of handheld radios for replacement/new issues.   

These handheld radios will be purchased using budgeted funds from the Baytown Crime Control Prevention District (CCPD). The source of funds that will pay for these radios will come out of the CCPD - Capital.
