Buffalo Bayou Water Rescue

On January 5, 2020, at 11:36 a.m., Houston Firefighters rescued an elderly man Sunday afternoon after he fell into Buffalo Bayou while trying to rescue his one-eyed dog. Both of them fell about 12 feet into Bayou. A passerby called 911. HFD's Marine Group deployed a rescue boat and swimmer who was able to reach the man, secure him in a life jacket and onto a boat. The victim was taken to shore and transported to the hospital for an evaluation. Crews were also able to rescue the victim's dog.
