Harris County CIRT responded to a call of service of a delusional male

On January 04, 2020, about 4:30 p.m., the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Crisis Intervention Response Team (CIRT) responded to a call in District 4 involving a delusional male throwing chairs outside of a business with a large edged weapon. According to Major Mike Lee;

The Male was in a mental health crisis & transported for treatment by Mental Health Unit Deputy Brown.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said; "Policing the mentally ill is one of the biggest challenges facing police agencies today. Deputies are often the first responders to incidents involving people w mental illness. Our Mental Health Unit teammates are highly trained and do phenomenal work. Well done!"
