Harris County DA Office accepted the charges of Evading Detention and Resisting Arrest against Christopher

On January 26th officers were dispatched to a report of a family disturbance a tam apartment in the 3700 block of Garth. Upon arrival at the apartment the suspect, identified as 26 year old Christopher Garcia, exited the apartment and as he did the complainant advised officers he had assaulted her. When officers attempted to detain Christopher to further investigate, he refused to comply and fled on foot. The officers pursued Christopher on foot, eventually catching up to him and once again attempted to take him into custody. Christopher continued to resist the officers but was ultimately taken into custody, at which time he was transported to the Baytown Jail. Officers re-contacted the complainant and learned that the two had been in a verbal altercation most of the day which turned physical, however the complainant did not wish to pursue charges against Christopher. Officers contacted the Harris County District Attorney’s Office and advised them of the case at which time Family Violence charges were declined but charges of Evading Detention and Resisting Arrest were accepted on Christopher. It was also learned that Christopher also had outstanding traffic warrants as well.
