Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted charges against Coker for Unauthorized Carrying a Weapon

On January 2^nd at 2:59 a.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance at an apartment in the 500 block of Massey Tompkins in which a gun was possibly involved. Upon arrival officers contacted the complainant who advised her boyfriend, VShawn Coker had come home intoxicated when the two of them got into a verbal altercation. During that argument, Coker retrieved a handgun and attempted to slap the phone out of the complainant’s hand as she was recording Coker’s actions, which officers were able to confirm from the complainant’s cell phone video. Officers contacted the Harris County District Attorney’s Office and advised them of the facts of the case at which time charges of Unauthorized Carrying a Weapon were accepted on Coker, who was still on scene. Coker was placed under arrest and transported to the Baytown Jail.
