The suspicious person ended up in a foot chase and PD learned that it was a convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm


On February 21st at 5:12 p.m., officers responded to a report of a suspicious person in the 500 block of East Texas. Once in the area officers located the suspects walking east on Texas towards 5th street. When officers tried to make contact with the suspects they both fled on foot and a brief foot pursuit ensued. Both suspects were ultimately apprehended with one of them, identified as During the foot chase one of the suspects, 30-year-old Ray Hernandez, was found to be in possession of a pistol. It was later learned that he was also a convicted felon and as such he was charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm. The other subject, a 16-year-old male, was charged Evading on Foot and subsequently released to a family member.
