House fire under investigation in Baytown

On April 20, 2020, at 7:42 am, the Baytown Fire Department was dispatched to a residential structure fire at 5407 Lorraine.

Firefighters arrived to find heavy fire in the front bedroom that vented through the window. Firefighters performed a search of the building with no victims found. The fire was extinguished and it was determined that this residence was a vacant house. The Fire Marshal’s Office was dispatched to the scene to begin their investigation. There were no injuries.

The units responding to this incident were: Engine 1, Engine 2, Engine 3, Engine 5, Medic 5, Tower 7, EMS-1, and Battalion-1.

The fire was under control by the units on the scene at 8:06 am. The last unit cleared the scene at 9:16 am. The fire remains under investigation.

The house is valued at $111,087 and the estimated loss due to this incident is approximately $80,000
