Baytown Firefighters Respond to a Vehicle That Struck a Building


Baytown, Texas –Thursday, May 21 st, 2020, the Baytown Fire Department responded to a Vehicle vs. Building with occupants unable to get out.

Units arrived on the scene to find a vehicle intruding approximately four feet into the waiting room\ of a doctor’s office. There were two occupants of the vehicle. The waiting room of the doctor’s office was empty at the time of the accident.

The car’s front doors could not be opened due to debris and the building’s exterior wall against the vehicle. The passenger of the vehicle was uninjured and able to crawl out through the backseat with FD assistance. The driver had minor injuries.

Urban Search and Rescue Technicians from Station 5 arrived on location and were able to shore the building while crews safely extricated the patient from the vehicle. The patient suffered only minor injuries and refused transport.

Crews from Baytown Fire Department Station 5, Medic 2, Engine 7, Engine 2 and Battalion 1 all
responded to the scene.
