City Council APPROVES the Second Amendment to the CBA

The city council APPROVED the Second Amendment to the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Baytown Professional Firefighters' Association, Local 1173, to allow the Fire Chief to change the shift schedule of employees in the Operations Division.

Currently, the shift schedule is twenty-four hours on and forty-eight hours off.  The Union proposed to change the schedule to be forty-eight hours on and ninety-six hours off.  Therefore, this amendment will allow the Chief to make such a change to the shift schedule.

The Union and the City held a collective bargaining session on November 10, 2020, and tentatively agreed to the language in the proposed amendment.  The Union membership voted and approved this Second Amendment on November 27, 2020.
