On January 24th at 2:03 p.m. officers responded to a report of a theft in progress at Wal-Mart in the 4900 block of Garth Road. Upon arrival officers located and detained the suspect, identified as 35 year old Drike Cormier of Beaumont. Officers also contacted the complainant, a Loss Prevention Specialists for Wal-Mart, who advised that Cormier was observed concealing a watch and took a pair of sweat pants and a Dickies jacket of the rack and left the store without paying for the items, which was valued at $44.00. Cormier was transported to the Baytown Jail where officers contacted the Harris County District Attorney’s Office at which time enhanced charges of Class B Theft under $100.00 were accepted on Cormier.
