Harris County Sheriff’s Office and Partners Announce Results of “Operation Kickoff 2020” Human Trafficking Initiative






The Harris County Sheriff’s Office teamed up with partner law enforcement agencies and social service organizations – known as the Human Trafficking Rescue Alliance -- on a five-day initiative in January called “Operation Kickoff 2020.” The operation focused on East Harris County, with the objective of identifying and rescuing human trafficking victims, identifying and arresting traffickers, and providing an array of services to help victims escape their abusers. The results of this initiative will be presented.





Representatives from the Human Trafficking Rescue Alliance, including the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, Houston Police Department, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Baytown Police Department, Harris County District Attorney’s Office, Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office, Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission, Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Attorney General’s Office, U.S. Homeland Security, FBI, U.S. Department of State, Texas Forensic Nurse Examiners, YMCA International, The Landing, and Deliver Fund.

A suspect led HCSO District 1 on a short pursuit






Harris County District 1 sheriff deputies have arrested a subject wanted in numerous armed robberies after a short pursuit. Currently, the details are scratchy for the moment, but the pursuit happened on February 07, 2020, at 8:07 PM.

HCSO responded to a call of service of an injured bald eagle


On Thursday, the HCSO Deputies in District 2 responded to an animal humane call in the Atascocita area. HCSO located an injured bald eagle and referred the majestic bird to US Parks and wildlife service for treatment.





No current information on the condition of the bald eagle.


HCSO arrested 3 suspects after finding a tire dumping in progress


Thursday evening, the HCSO Investigators are working with witnesses that alerted the HCSO District 2 of a tire dumping in progress. HCSO Deputies; Agrait, Herrera, Jones, and Vela quickly responded. Sheriff Ed Gonzalez released a statement; "These tire piles can be a risk to public health. Illegal dumping is a crime. Three individuals have been charged with Felony-Illegal Dumping."





The three males that were arrested were; Tyrone Scott (38), Ray Hullaby (69), and Lyndell Scott (45)

HCSO Crimes against Children investigating a scene at 45-North at Richey


On January 29, 2020, about 10:59 p.m., the Harris County Sheriff Department District 1 deputies responded to a welfare check at a motel on 45N at Richey.

HCSO discovered two runaway girls ages 14 and 16 in a room with two males ages 19 and 31. Harris County Sheriff Crimes against Children investigation are currently gathering evidence.

Harris County Sheriff’s Office units were investigating a suspicious device


On January 22, 2020, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office units were investigating a suspicious device at a site under construction at 7355 SH 6 South. Sheriff Ed Gonzalez released a statement and he said; "Our team located the device and found it to be a hoax. There is no threat to the site nor adjacent properties. Grateful to all our first responders and media partners. Thankful to our highly trained Harris County Sheriff’s Office bomb technicians and explosive detection canines."
