Harris County DA office accepted charges against Crystal Thompson

On December 17^TH at 9:06 p.m., officers were patrolling the Garth Road corridor and the Wal Mart parking lot when they observed a vehicle illegally parked in a handicap space. Officers approached the vehicle and contacted two male subjects, one in the front passenger seat and one in the rear seat. While speaking with the two men about why the car was parked in the handicap space, one of the men claimed his wife, who he identified as Crystal Currie, had parked it there. While doing a computer check of the female the officer found her true identity was actually 36-year-old Crystal Thompson, who showed to have several local warrants as well as a felony warrant for her arrest out of Chambers County. Officers were also able to view a previous mug shot of Crystal, who exited the store a few minutes later and walked towards the car where the officers were standing. As she approached the car the officers asked if she was Crystal and she advised she wasn’t and continued passed the officers. As she made it to the driver's side of the vehicle she immediately jumped into the driver seat as if she was about to flee. Officers were able to grab her arm and attempted to remove her from the car however she refused to cooperate as she attempted to pull away from the officers. Officers were eventually able to successfully extract her from the vehicle and take her into custody at which time they examined the contents of the bag she had when she approached the car and found a glass pipe that had a white residue on the inside which officers believed to be methamphetamine residue. Crystal was ultimately transported to the Baytown jail and booked on the felony warrant for possession of a controlled substance as well as several local traffic warrants. Officers also contacted the Harris County District Attorney’s Office and advised them of the case at which time they accepted an additional charge of Interfering with Public Duties. The two males were released without charges.
