Harris County District Attorney charged Roberson with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Felon in Possession of a Firearm

On January 6^th at 4:52 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle in the 1100 block of North Main. During the course of the stop, officers could smell the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle and asked the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, Ned Roberson, to step out of the vehicle. As Roberson exited the vehicle he advised the officer there was in fact a handgun in the vehicle, which the officer noticed stuffed between the driver seat and center console. Mr. Roberson was then detained and a further search of the vehicle revealed several small partially smoked marijuana cigarettes as well as a cigarette pack that contained a plastic baggy that contained approximately several tablets of what the officers recognized as ecstasy. Also located in the vehicle were scales and baggies, indicative of narcotics sales. Mr. Roberson was subsequently searched at which time officers located another clear baggy containing ecstasy, total amount approximately 131 tablets.  Mr. Roberson was transported to the Baytown Jail where he was booked and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Felon in Possession of a Firearm through the Harris County District Attorney’s
