Loya charged with Injury to a Child and Assault Family Violence

On February 17^th at 10:39 p.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence in the 2600 block of Cedar Bayou Road. Upon arrival, officers found two adult males, both intoxicated, as well as 3 children, two teens, and one elementary-aged child. During the investigation, officers learned that the mother of the children had physically assaulted the children during an argument over one of the teen’s cell phones. The mother, identified as 40-year-old Bambi Loya, reportedly began assaulting one of the teens and when the other two children tried to break them up she assaulted them as well. Ms. Loya was arrested and charged with Injury to a Child and Assault Family Violence through the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.
