On March, 15th at 10:17 p.m., officers responded to a report of a Burglary of a Building in the 1900 block of North Main. Upon arrival officers found one of the windows to the business had been shattered and blood inside the business. Officers would learn from the complainant that the business was burglarized overnight, between 5:00p.m. and 10:00 a.m. Officers found a blood trail leading away from the business and followed that trail to a residence in the 300 block of East Homan. Once at the residence they learned that overnight, 45 year old Alfredo Cantu, had arrived at the residence looking for a place to sleep. The resident stated that they had ultimately convinced Cantu to turn himself in on outstanding warrants and transported him to the Baytown Jail where he was booked on those warrants. Based on this information, Officers contacted the Harris County District Attorney’s Office and advised them of the case and charges of Burglary of a Building were accepted on Cantu.
