On April 13th at 12:23 p.m., officers responded to a report of a robbery of an individual in the 300 block of East Hunnicutt. Upon arrival officers contacted the complainant and learned that she had pulled up to her residence ad as she exited her vehicle a black male approached her, pointed a handgun at her and demanded her purse. The complainant initially refused to comply at which time the suspect struck her in the face with the handgun, took her purse and got into a white Dodge truck. A few hours later the complainant’s wallet was reported to have been found in the street near Garth Road and Northwood. As officers responded to the found wallet they also noticed a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle in this case driving on Northwood. Officers conducted as top on this vehicle and identified the driver as 34 year old Joshua Minkins of Baytown, who matched the description of the suspect and was wearing the same clothes as the suspect was wearing during the robbery. During a search of the vehicle officers also located items that were taken in the robbery as well as a handgun that matched the description given by the complainant. Minkins was placed under arrest and transported to the Baytown Jail where he was charged with Aggravated Robbery and Felon in Possession of a Firearm through the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.
