Recently, I put up a poll of performers that you wanted to see in Baytown. Now I contacted the Director of the Baytown Parks and Recreation Department.
My email reads, "Hey, I want to send an idea to you for the next 4th of July event for 2021. Jimmy Buffett, Geroge Strait, or Toby Keith for the final concert. My wife really wants the King of Country Music. She hasn't seen him in concert as of yet in her life. I have seen the King of Country music perform numerous times and met the guy in person backstage. I don't know if Baytown can get him, but it would be an incredible moment in history for Baytown if Baytown can arrange the King of Country Music."
Mr. Johnson replied back; "Michael, it would be awesome to get any one of the three. I am a Parrot Head and would love to meet JB. But, two problems, we would need a bigger park and a way bigger budget, all three require up to $1 million… little over my budget."
A lot of our audience members voted for the King of Country Music. What a poll y'all! But we just never know if we will get the top performers in Baytown.

But at least we have Sammy Kershaw this year. Kershaw has released 16 studio albums, with three RIAA platinum certifications and two gold certifications among them. More than 25 singles have entered Top 40 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, including his only number one hit "She Don't Know She's Beautiful" and 10 more Top 10 hits: "Cadillac Style", "Anywhere but Here", "Haunted Heart", "Queen of My Double-Wide Trailer", "I Can't Reach Her Anymore", "National Working Woman's Holiday", "Third Rate Romance", "Meant to Be", "Vidalia", and "Love of My Life".
In 2008, Sammy Kershaw was inducted into The Louisiana Music Hall of Fame in honor of his career achievements and was also inducted into the Louisiana Songwriters Association Hall Of Fame in 2010. Kershaw's first single in two years, "Real People", was released in late 2008 in the Boomerville/Big Hit label.
I fully understand the budgeting and how big of a space we need for the top artist of today or the King of Country Music!
