Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted charges against Charles Wilson of Baytown for Resisting Arrest

On May 26th at 8:37 p.m., officers responded to a report of a suspicious person knocking on an apartment door in the 2500 block of East James. Upon arrival, officers contacted the complainant who was able to point out the suspect, who was in the parking lot, to the officer. As officers approached the male, identified as Charles Wilson of Baytown, it was apparent to the officers that he was intoxicated as he reeked of both alcohol and burnt marijuana and he had slurred speech and bloodshot eyes. when officers asked for his identity, Wilson refused to provide it. As officers attempted to place Wilson under arrest he pulled away from officers, preventing them from handcuffing him. A short struggle ensued during which officers took Wilson to the ground in an attempt to gain control of him, where the struggle continued. Officers were ultimately able to secure Wilson in handcuffs, however, Wilson continued to be uncooperative with officers as they tried to get him in the back seat of the patrol car. Once secured in the patrol car, Wilson was transported to the Baytown Jail where he was booked and charged with Resisting Arrest through the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.
