BAYTOWN - On Monday, Baytown Police and the Fire Department responded to the 7900 block of Garth Road in reference to a stabbing. Dispatch put life-flight on standby.

According to Baytown Cops, a female was stabbed (15) fifteen times. The suspect that stabbed the female was taken into custody.

UPDATE:

On Monday, August 17th at 3:56 p.m., Baytown Police responded to a report of a stabbing at the Comfort Suites in the 7200 block of Garth Road, where a female was reported to have been stabbed.

Upon arrival, officers learned that the incident had occurred inside one of the rooms and as they approached that room, they encountered 32-year-old Dantarvias McNeil, sitting in the hallway just outside the hotel room. They also found 46-year-old Katy Houck lying in the doorway of the room, suffering from what appeared to be multiple stab wounds to her torso
and arms.

Officers detained Mr. McNeil and began rendering aid to Ms. Houck, quickly applying tourniquets to her arm in an attempt to slow the blood loss. Ms. Houck was subsequently airlifted to a Memorial Herman Hospital where despite the best efforts to save her by our officers, EMS, and medical staff, she succumbed to her injuries.

Baytown Police Homicide Detectives responded to the scene and during the course of the investigation, they learned that the victim and the suspect, who was apparently in a relationship together, had checked into the hotel earlier in the day. According to witnesses, the two had been arguing most of the day, to the point hotel staff went to the room to address the disruptive behavior. Upon doing so, they found Ms. Houck lying in the doorway,
suffering from what appeared to be a large laceration on her arm, and the suspect sitting in the hallway just outside of the hotel room, where officers found him.

Early this morning, Detectives presented the facts and evidence uncovered during their investigation to the Harris County District Attorney’s Office/Special Crimes Division at which time charges of Murder were accepted on Mr. McNeil, who is currently in custody and awaiting transport to the Harris County Jail.
