Baytown Man Detained after a Disturbance that led into a Fresh Charge of Resisting Arrest

On December 6th at 5:24 p.m., officers responded to a disturbance at the Watermark Apartments in the 2700 block of Ward. Upon arrival, officers contacted the complainant in the parking lot of the complex and learned that she and her boyfriend had been in an argument and she wanted to gather her belongings so she could leave. Prior to contacting the boyfriend, identified as 32-year-old Cordaro Thompson, officers learned he had an outstanding felony warrant for Felony Evading Arrest. Officers contacted Thompson at the apartment and when they attempted to place him under arrest for the warrant a struggle ensued. Thompson resisted the officer's efforts by pushing the officers in an attempt to avoid being arrested and struggling with them to prevent being placed in handcuffs. After a brief struggle officers were able to get Thompson into custody and escort him to a waiting patrol car. Along the way Thompson continued resisting the officers as they walked him to the patrol car, requiring two officers to safely get him onto the patrol vehicle. Thompson was transported to the Baytown Jail where he was booked on the warrant as well as a fresh charge of Resisting Arrest.
