Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted charges on Richarson

On April 27th officers responded to a report of a minor hit and run accident in the area of North Main and Hwy 146. Upon arrival officers learned that a black Lexus had rear ended a car stopped at the light at the intersection. The driver of the Lexus stopped briefly and confronted the driver of the other vehicle before fleeing the scene, driving over the curb, turning south on Main and pulling into the parking lot of the Victory Temple Church. Officers located the Lexus, which was occupied by a single black male who was subsequently identified as 30 year old Wyman Richardson. As officers approached the Lexus noted Richardson appeared confused and intoxicated. Officers had Richardson step out of the vehicle at which time they attempted to detain him, however he refused to comply with the officers and started trying to pull away from the officers. The officers and Richardson would wind up on the ground where officers continued to struggle to get the uncooperative Richardson in handcuffs.  One of the officers was forced to deploy his department issue Taser, which eventually allowed officers to get Richardson into custody. Richardson was later transported to the Baytown Jail where he continued his aggressive behavior towards the officers and jail staff. Richardson was ultimately charged with Driving While Intoxicated through the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.
