Disturbance now leading into charges of Felony Evading, Unlawful Carrying a Weapon, and Possession of Marijuana

On May 27th at 2:29 p.m., officers responded to the pharmacy located in the Primary Medical Tower in the 2800 block of Garth in reference to an unwanted guest. Upon arrival, officers learned that a 23-year-old male was inside the pharmacy creating a disturbance because the pharmacy would not fill his prescription. The male was asked to leave by the staff, however, he refused to do so initially, however, our officer was able to convince him to leave the pharmacy and as the officer was escorting him out, the male became belligerent and began shouting obscenities at the pharmacy staff. At this point, the officer attempted to place the male under arrest for Disorderly Conduct at which time the male fled on foot out of the building and into the driver seat of a tan Lincoln MDX which was parked in the parking lot. The male then fled the parking lot in the vehicle and was last seen entering the residential area east of the pharmacy. Due to the fact, there were children in the area, officers did not immediately pursue the suspect out of concern for the safety of those children.  Almost immediately officers learned that the suspect vehicle had crashed into a parked trailer in the 400 block of Inwood, which was attached to a pick up that was occupied by two males, fortunately, neither were injured. The male suspect then fled on foot again and at one point even entered a garage of a residence and asked the homeowner to let him hide in his garage form the police. The homeowner refused the request and the suspect fled again and reportedly tried to gain entry into other residences to hide, however it doesn’t appear he was able to do so. Officers conducted an exhaustive search for the suspect but were unable to locate him. Officers did however locate inside the suspect’s vehicle, a quantity of marijuana and a handgun and as a result, the suspect, who officers have identified, is facing charges of Felony Evading, Unlawful Carrying a Weapon and Possession of Marijuana.
