Rosalio charged with Felony Driving While Intoxicated (3rd offense) through the Harris County District Attorney’s Office

On May 22nd at 9:47 p.m., officers were dispatched to a reckless driver call in the area of Wade and Decker. Reports were that a vehicle was driving with its lights off and was having difficulty staying it its lane.  Upon arrival in the area officers located the vehicle in question and ultimately conducted a stop on it in the 1900 block of West Main. Upon stopping the vehicle offices identified the driver as 39 year old Rosalio Lopez Acevedo of Baytown. Upon making contact with Rosalio officers found him to be disoriented and unable to follow simple directions, which was evident when officers asked him to roll his window down and place his vehicle in park he would turn his wipers and blinkers on, turned the engine off, refused to unlock his doors and placed the vehicle in neutral, however as officers attempted to have him exit the vehicle he started the vehicle, making the officers concerned he may try to drive away. Officers ultimately were forced to break the driver’s side window and removed Rosalio from the vehicle in order to prevent him from driving off. Upon doing so officers noticed several containers of beer in the vehicle and an open one in the center console. Officers conducted a series of standardized field sobriety tests on Rosalio, which led officers to believe Rosalio was in fact intoxicated. Rosalio was placed under arrest and transported to the Baytown Jail where he was charged with Felony Driving While Intoxicated (3rd offense) through the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.
