Active Homicide Investigation after 1 Killed on Alabama Street


On August 3rdh at approximately 1:45 a.m., Baytown Police responded to a residence in the 1600 block of Alabama Street in reference to a report of a home invasion. Upon arrival, officers found 40-year-old Margarita Villalon deceased from a single gunshot wound.

Homicide Detectives responded to the scene and during the course of their investigation learned four armed suspects forcibly entered the home, encountering two teens inside the home. An altercation occurred between the suspects and the teens, which awakened the parents, who then came out of their room and encountered the suspects as well. During the following moments, one of the suspects shot, and tragically killed, Margarita Villalon, after which all of the suspects fled the residence in an unknown direction.

Detectives quickly identified a person of interest in the case, who has been located and detained, along with a second individual. Detectives are working to determine what, if any, role these two teens may have had in this senseless Murder. This investigation remains active as Detectives are following up on several leads.
