Jasmine Hughey of Baytown Booked and Charge with Felony Evading in a Motor Vehicle and Driving While Intoxicated

On October 18th at 7:52 p.m., officers were dispatched do the area of Bayou Drive and East Texas Avenue in reference to an accident in which a silver passenger car struck several mail boxes, nearly struck a pedestrian then fled the scene. As officers arrived in the area they spotted the suspect vehicle in the 100 block of Bayou, with the side airbags deployed and damage to the driver side of the vehicle. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop of the vehicle, however the driver of the vehicle refused to stop and continued to flee from officers until crashing into a stop sign at the intersection of Ward Road and Manor Drive. After crashing the vehicle the driver, identified as 29 year old Jasmine Hughey of Baytown, exited the vehicle and began to walk away, initially ignoring officer’s commands but then complied and was taken into custody. Ms. Hughey was subsequently transported to the Baytown Jail where she was booked and charged with Felony Evading in a Motor Vehicle and Driving While Intoxicated.
