The Mayor presented a proclamation designating February 14 - March 7, 2020, as The 2020 Great Texas Warrant Roundup in Baytown

The City of Baytown's Municipal Court, City Marshal's office and Police Department are among more than 300 law enforcement jurisdictions across the State of Texas to annually participate in The Great Texas Warrant Round-up.

This is not an amnesty program, rather an opportunity for those with outstanding traffic warrants to take advantage of the available options to settle active warrants. Notices will be mailed to persons who currently have an active warrant against them, inviting them to come to the Baytown Municipal Court on February 21,from 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M., March 6, from 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M, and March 14, 2020, from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. to discuss their warrants without fear of being arrested. 

Baytown Jail booked and released a confirmed warrant out of New York

On February 6th officers responded to a report of people smoking marijuana in a room at the Verve in the 3200 block of Garth. upon arrival, officers made contact with several subjects, one of which was found to have outstanding warrants out of New York. That subject, a 30-year-old Baytown man was placed under arrest and transported to the Baytown Jail and booked on that confirmed warrant. However, later in the evening, it was learned that although the warrant was confirmed by New York authorities, they were not able to send the appropriate paperwork that is required for Harris County to properly prepare for his extradition back to New York, therefore, he was released.

Ms. Arie actually had two outstanding warrants out of Harris County, one for Possession of a Controlled Substance and one for Driving While Intoxicated

On January  30^th at 4:00 p.m. officers responded to a theft in progress at the Goodwill store in the 3500 block of Garth Road. The caller reported that a female had entered the store and was suspected of stealing items. Upon arrival, officers contacted the female who provided a name and date of birth to the officers. Upon checking that name officer found an outstanding warrant out of Galveston County for Failure to Appear and thus arrested the female. However, once at the jail, the female was fingerprinted and it was found her true identity was not as she had stated, instead she was identified as 38-year-old Kandy Arie of Baytown. A computer check of that name revealed that Ms. Arie actually had two outstanding warrants out of Harris County, one for Possession of a Controlled Substance and one for Driving While Intoxicated. 

Seth Hunter arrested for a Parole Violation warrant

On January 29^th at 3:34 p.m., officers arrested 34-year-old Seth Hunter on an outstanding Parole Violation warrant at a residence in the 100 block of West Main. Hunter was transported to the Baytown Jail and booked.

Jonathan Parker of Baytown arrested for an outstanding warrant and, Felony Evading Arrest in a Motor Vehicle

On January 28^th officers were in the area of the 2900 block of Market Street looking for a wanted subject, 37-year-old Jonathan Parker of Baytown, who was reportedly seen in the area. Officers observed Parker walking in the area and attempted to make contact with him to place him under arrest for his outstanding warrant for Felony Evading Arrest in a Motor Vehicle. As officers attempted to place Parker under arrest he pulled away from the officer and fled on foot. Our officer chased after Parker as he fled south between two buildings and down an alleyway. At one point Parker stumbled which allowed the officer to catch up to Parker, take him to the ground and place him in custody. Parker was transported to the Baytown Jail where he was booked on his charges.
